Spooky fun on Angove Street this Halloween

On Wednesday 31 October, Angove street will become a festival of all things spooky as North Perth Local presents the second annual Halloween on Angove Street event.

Building on the success and popularity of last year’s event, this Halloween will be even bigger, with live bands, scary (in a good way) activities, sweet treats and lots of fun for the whole family to enjoy.

“With support from our major sponsor City of Vincent, Halloween on Angove Street will turn our beloved Angove strip into a captivating picture of pumpkins, black-cats, ghosts and goblins,” said Ida Smithwick, President of North Perth Local.

“We invite all local residents to join us for Halloween themed live music, face painting, a photo booth and more.”

“Local businesses on the street will be opening their doors to get in on the spooky fun. Wherever you may be trick or treating, be sure to make your way to Angove Street for some family fun," she said.

Headlining this year’s Halloween event will be local surf-rockers Day of the Dead, with very special guest supports from Catzilla and Simone & Girlfunkle, as well as DJ sets from Felicity Groom Vs. DJ Holly Doll. There will also be a quintet from the Perth Symphony playing some spooky tunes.

Mayor Emma Cole is looking forward to the Halloween event, which closes Angove Street to cars and allows kids to trick or treat safely among the businesses and event stalls.

“We are thrilled to welcome Halloween back to North Perth this year. Last year was so much fun and it was a great way to invite people in to Angove Street. I know the local retailers certainly get into the spirit of the event and love the trail of trick or treaters that it brings,” she said.

“It is also a great drawcard for families from North Perth and beyond who want to trick or treat in a festive and safe environment.”

“Vincent staff and Council Members will be out in force in costume and we hope to see lots of kids, fur-kids and adults dressed-up on Angove Street for some fun on the night.”
