The City of Vincent has approved a new Greening Plan 2018-2023 for community comment. The plan aims increase the number of trees on private and public land to almost double the tree canopy in Vincent by 2050.

Transition Town Vincent have set up a community compost station at Britannia Reserve for residents to drop off their kitchen food waste. The compost will be maintained by TTV volunteers so participating residents will be able to come back and collect the rich garden compost for use in their homes.

The existing car park lighting was installed in the 1980’s and is now unreliable, ‘old’ technology and very difficult to find part replacements for when it does breaks down. The lighting also does not conform to current standards and is of poor energy efficiency. For these reasons the City is looking to upgrade the lighting to more efficient LED lamps which will provide better illumination at a lower cost.
