Open Street Events

Hosting a street event is a great way to get to know your neighbours in a fun and casual environment. The City of Vincent wants to make it as easy as possible for you to close the road and organise an event on the street, so you can focus on the best bit: meeting new people and getting to know your neighbours better. We can help with both the practical, and, in some cases, also the financial aspect of the event.

Street Party Kit

Our Street Party Events Kit guides you through all the necessary practical steps.

The main steps to planning an open streets event are:

  1. Plan your party and get support from your neighbours
  2. Contact the City for initial approval
  3. Submit an application for order for Road Closure to the Police
  4. Upload the approved road closure, receipt and request for funding.

This application form is designed specifically for local, neighbourhood events for up to 1,500 people that involve a road closure.

If you want to plan a bigger event or one in another location, please have a look here.

Let’s Talk Grants

We have even better news: your event may be eligible for community funding through the Open Street Grants. Our grants can cover a variety of costs such as public liability, catering, security, entertainment, equipment, road closure, traffic management, and sundries. To find out how we can help with your street party, contact the Community Partnerships team on 9273 6000 or email community.partnerships@vincent.wa.gov.au.

Before applying for an Open Streets Grant, please make sure you have completed all the steps for your Open Streets Events Application to go with your funding application.
