In January 2019, we start construction on two new town centre projects - North Perth Common and the Oxford Street North Upgrade.

North Perth Common

North Perth Common will be an exciting public shared space in the heart of the North Perth Town Centre. It will be an icon for the area and a meeting place for the North Perth community.

During construction (late January - May) there will be no vehicle access to a section of View Street - from the corner of View Street Car Park to Fitzgerald Street, however pedestrian access to Paragon Property, North Perth Post Office and all other surrounding businesses will remain. There will still be vehicle access to North Perth Plaza Car Park and the View Street Car Park.

North Perth Common is a major open space project for the City with funding support from the State Government. The project construction is scheduled to run from late January to early May 2019.

Oxford Street North Upgrade

January will also see the Mount Hawthorn Town Centre enhanced as we begin works to upgrade the northern part of Oxford Street.

The Oxford Street North Upgrade will improve pedestrian amenity in the area and bring this section of the Mount Hawthorn Town Centre in line with its counterpart along Scarborough Beach Road.
