Event organisers and community groups looking to run events in Vincent can now apply for sponsorship to bring their vision to life.

The City provides event sponsorship to free, family-friendly events that make Vincent a lively and connected place for people to enjoy.

Events held between 1 July 2024 and 30 June 2025 are eligible for up to $40,000 in funding.

Applications are open until 4pm on Friday, 15 March 2024.

“Our locals and visitors from the inner-city suburbs love attending free community events all year round,” said Mayor Alison Xamon.

“Events not only bring more people to our town centres but they offer opportunities for locals to showcase their talent and trade.

“This year, we are inviting people who are keen to bring new arts events, family-friendly festivals, concerts, food markets and cultural celebrations to Vincent to join the party and apply for sponsorship.

"I am urging applicants to consider making their events more accessible for people of all ages, abilities and cultures while also adopting sustainable and climate conscious initiatives."

In 2023/24, 17 events received funding including Good Sammy’s upcycled fashion event, Jazz in the Park, Pride Fairday and Pickle District After Dark.

“I strongly encourage anyone with an event idea to consider applying for this funding opportunity,” said The Pickle District town team founder Andrew Kailis.

“It has been instrumental in the success of our annual art crawl event, After Dark.

“Over the past three years, we have collaborated closely with the City's events team, whose unwavering support has been invaluable in bringing our vision to life.”

The funding aims to provide financial and in-kind support to help community-driven events thrive and reach a broader audience, with funds available for traffic management, staging, audio visual, structures and toilets, performers, entertainers, activities and marketing.

Eligible events will need to demonstrate they align to the City’s values and have a positive impact on the community.
