Proposed changes on Harold Street

The City of Vincent is seeking feedback from residents on a proposal to make a section of Harold Street one-way between Vincent and Beaufort streets.

Earlier community consultation on a proposal to change the intersection of Harold and Beaufort streets as part of a Black Spot project was not supported.

Following a review of community responses, a report was presented to Council in August. Council’s resolution was for further consultation with residents, school and surrounding businesses on making Harold Street one-way between Vincent and Beaufort streets.

Vincent is now consulting on a proposal to make a section of Harold Street one-way.

The proposal is designed to improve traffic flow along Harold Street and limit potential conflict points by making it one-way.

The proposed change is expected to improve traffic flow significantly as vehicles will be prevented from driving through to Vincent Street. Access from Beaufort Street will still be possible, to accommodate residents, school drop-offs/pick-ups and service vehicles.

These changes aim to improve safety around the intersection of Harold and Beaufort streets as well as supporting a more pedestrian and cyclist friendly environment.
