Freshen up your garden with natives

Spring is almost upon us and with warmer weather on the horizon it’s a great time to pick up your trowel and freshen up your garden with Australian natives.

Our annual Native Plant Sale is returning to North Perth Common this Saturday from 8am – 11am.

We will have a huge variety of natives available for less than wholesale price – from ground covers and small shrubs to climbers.

“Our Native Plant Sale is always a hugely popular event, attracting keen gardeners and those who want to learn more about beautiful native Australian species,” said Mayor Emma Cole.

“We want people to feel confident about planting natives in their garden or verge, so we will have horticulturists on site to provide advice and help you pick the right plants.

“We’re activating North Perth Common again for the plant sale and I hope everyone who comes along will support local business and take the chance to visit nearby cafés and shops.”

Species available at the plant sale include Mangles Kangaroo Paw, Green Kangaroo Paw, Swan River Daisy, One-sided Bottlebrush, Prickly Conostylis, Morning Iris and plenty more.

Native plants not only look great, they also generally need less water and maintenance than exotic species.

Vincent residents need to bring proof of residency to buy plants.
