Traditional Aboriginal Art with Djurandi Dreaming and Justin Martin 

Date: Monday 27 May 2024

Time: 5 - 6.30pm

Join us for a traditional Aboriginal workshop with Noongar artist, Justin Martin, where participants will learn traditional symbols, stories, language, colours and techniques used in Aboriginal art while creating their own their own piece to take home.

Djeran Totem Weaving Workshop with Sharyn Egan 

Date: Tuesday 28 May 2024

Time: 4.30 - 6.30pm

Venue: Vincent Community Centre, 99 Loftus Street, Leederville

Cost: FREE

In Noongar culture, it is important to look after and preserve totems and to respect the relationships between the environment, the Country, and our totems.  In this workshop, participants will learn about totems and their significance to Noongar culture and the importance of protecting their personal totem.

Bushtucker Talk and Tasting with Dale Tilbrook

Date: Wednesday 29 May 2024

Time: 5 - 7pm

Venue: Vincent Community Centre, 99 Loftus Street, Leederville

In this workshop, Dale will share her knowledge of bush tucker, local Aboriginal people, traditional agricultural practices, and the Noongar Six Seasons.  Participants can taste local herbs, leaves, spices, lemon myrtle tea, jams from native ingredients, and other goodies.

Aboriginal History, Dreamtime Stories and Bush Tools with Greg Nannup

Date: Thursday 30 May 2024

Time: 5.30 - 6.45pm

Venue: Vincent Community Centre, 99 Loftus Street, Leederville

Cost: FREE

At this event, participants will see and learn about traditional Noongar tools and implements that were vital to traditional life.  Learn about the history, story, design and correct use of traditional Noongar tools. Participants will also learn about the local history and tribal area and hear a dreamtime story.
