Local football players score new changerooms at Litis Stadium

The next generation of female and junior football stars can now access modern changerooms on game days at Litis Stadium.

The City of Vincent has completed the construction of the 365sqm facility, with upgrades to Floreat Athena Football Club’s clubrooms thanks to $3 million in funding from the Australian Government.

The state-of-the-art changeroom, which includes umpire and physio rooms, meets Football West’s National Premier League venue requirements and universal design standards.

Athena’s growing number of players, particularly female and juniors, now have easier access to changerooms for their matches. The community and other local sporting clubs, such as the Vincent City Ducks gridiron club, can also use the space during the off-season.

The addition of a public toilet enhances the inclusivity and accessibility for all users of the reserve next to the stadium.

Inside the clubrooms, Vincent delivered roof repairs, kitchen and bar upgrades, new flooring, bathroom and air-conditioning renewals, along with additional works.

The project achieved a key outcome of the Britannia North West Reserve Development Plan, which aimed to future-proof the stadium and park.

Vincent has worked collaboratively with Athena, who are the primary tenants of the stadium, to lock in the funding and to complete the project.

“This asset is a major coup for Floreat Athena FC which has been a long time coming and brings the club into the 21st century. It enables us to cater for our junior and senior teams, boys and girls, with first class facilities.

“The $3 million in Federal funding has been a boon for the club and is already benefiting not only our players but the wider community of the City of Vincent, particularly with the refurbishment of the clubroom including new bathrooms, heating systems, kitchens and bar facilities.

"This funding will ensure vibrant clubs like Athena will continue to be the heartbeat of the community, be a central social meeting place and help unearth the next football generation.”
