Mural Co-Funding Program

The City of Vincent is committed to embedding creativity in everything we do, with a vision to make Vincent the arts capital of Perth.

Murals play an important role in creating vibrant, welcoming places. They transform blank walls into unique public artworks that reflect our community, strengthen local identity and add colour and character to our town centres and neighbourhoods.

The Mural Co-Funding Program supports businesses, property owners, residents and community groups to work with professional and emerging mural artists to deliver high-quality public art projects. Through matched funding, the program helps bring creative ideas to life while supporting local artists and enhancing Vincent's public spaces.

This is an action from the Arts Plan 2023-2028.

Matched funding

Successful applicants can receive matched funding of up to 50% of the total cost of a mural project, with grants of up to $5,000 (excluding GST) available.

Grant funding is paid following project completion. Successful applicants must provide evidence of payment as part of the grant acquittal process before funding is released.

Who can apply

Eligible applicants include:

Small and medium businesses (1–199 employees)
Residents
Property owners
Strata bodies
Community groups (non-profit or incorporated organisations)
Vincent-based schools and P&C groups

Professional and emerging mural artists may also apply on behalf of an eligible applicant.

How it works

Applying for the Mural Co-Funding Program is simple:

Develop your idea – identify a suitable location and work with the property owner (if applicable) to discuss your mural concept.
Partner with an artist – engage a professional or emerging mural artist to develop a design and provide a quote for the project.
Contact a City Place Planner – review the grant guidelines below and discuss your proposed mural project with a Place Planners. The Planners will
supply applicants with a link to the application form.
Submit your application – include the required supporting information, such as your proposed design, budget and any necessary permissions in your application.
Assessment – applications will be assessed against the program guidelines. Successful applicants will be notified before work can begin.
Create your mural – once your application is approved, complete the mural in accordance with the funding agreement.
Receive your funding – after the project is complete, submit your acquittal, including evidence of payment. Grant funding will then be released to successful applicants.
