Beatty Park ReSERVE

Major improvements are coming to Beatty Park Reserve in North Perth. The project includes a new playground, toilet block and irrigation systems.

The reserve is popular with community members and sporting groups alike and the existing playground, built in 2005, is in need of a refresh.

We asked the community for input on the project in October 2024. Visit Imagine Vincent for more information about the consultation.

In February, we presented two design options for the playground as part of the Beatty Park Reserve Upgrade consultation and asked you to tell us which one you preferred.

This design selected (see below) incorporates more play equipment with a mixture of rubber soft fall and soft fall mulch. It proposes a coastal bush theme with colours and finishes to match. Predominantly sand softfall with rubber wear pads connecting to the paths and between activities.

The main attraction is the 25m ‘Sky rider’, providing dynamic play for teenagers as requested in feedback, plus:

  • Premium multiplay unit (tunnel, pole, monkey bar, spider web, turbo slide, staircase, story panel, sand play zone etc.).
  • Triple swing (nest, infant and strap seats).
  • Lorikeet rocker.

It is suitable for ages 0-12, has 18 activities and a capacity of 50+.

Based on community feedback, we will also be adding a 'barrier' between the playground itself and the flying fox component.

Work on the new playground is likely to begin in June 2025.
