Vincent marks 12 years as a Gold Waterwise Council

The City of Vincent has again been endorsed as a Gold Waterwise Council by the Water Corporation.

Vincent has a strong history in this space, having first achieved Waterwise Council status in 2013 and consistently maintaining Gold Waterwise Council recognition for more than a decade.

The endorsement reflects our ongoing work to use water more efficiently across City facilities and public spaces.

Water Corporation highlighted recent sustainability initiatives including the Waterwise conservation of Beatty Park, urban biodiversity improvements along the Derbarl Yerrigan and our plans to replenish groundwater at Menzies Park using stormwater runoff.

The Waterwise Council Program recognises councils that lead by example and support their communities to use water wisely.

At the City, this includes expanding ecozoning with native and waterwise plants, such as at Britannia Road Reserve; upgrading irrigation systems to reduce scheme and groundwater use, including the recent works at Weld Square and helping residents through initiatives like native plant sales, workshops, and practical waterwise resources.

The City of Vincent is proud to be recognised for our leadership and bestpractice approach to water management and we’re committed to our Enhanced Environment Strategy which means we're building a greener, more climate‑resilient future for our community.
