The City of Vincent is one step closer to making its streets safer for the people who live, walk and ride there by reducing the speed limit.
The existing 50km/h speed limit on Vincent Street between William and Beaufort Street will be adjusted to 40km/h to align to the surrounding roads and aims to improve safety across the road network.
Reducing speed limits on commonly used roads was a key objective of Vincent’s Accessible City Strategy 2020-2030.
This change is also part of a precinct-wide traffic study in Vincent, which is supported by the City's Road Safety Management Plan.
Drivers are encouraged to observe new signage and adjust their speed accordingly, as we champion broader behaviour change in line with the State Government's Driving Change Strategy.
