The City of Vincent is upgrading its Newcastle Street Car Park in Leederville, with works commencing this week.
This carpark at 629 Newcastle Street is currently used by Water Corporation staff.
As part of the project, the carpark will be resurfaced, have improved drainage and new marked lines.
Lighting will also be improved for safer parking at night, along with landscaping and greenery.
Construction is planned to start on 15 May and is expected to continue until late August.
The estimated work hours are from 7am – 5pm on weekdays and some Saturdays.
The carpark will be closed throughout the duration of the works. Parking permits have been given to Water Corporation staff to park on Richmond Street during this period.
The upgraded carpark is expected to reopen in September. It will be open 24/7 and include 125 bays available for both the public and Water Corporation permit holders to use during work hours.
