Vincent calls for community voices to shape disability access and inclusion

Community voices sought to shape disability inclusion in Vincent

The City of Vincent is calling for community members with lived experience of disability to help shape its next Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP).

Up to eight people will be selected to join the Disability Access and Inclusion Advisory Group (DAIAG), including individuals with disability, carers, family members and those working in disability support or advocacy.

The group will provide practical, lived experience insights to guide the development of the City’s next DAIP. It will bring together perspectives across physical, sensory, cognitive and psychosocial disability, alongside those supporting people with disability.

Members will help identify barriers, highlight opportunities and strengthen inclusive practices across the City’s services, programs, events, information and facilities. The groups advice will inform planning and support meaningful, achievable actions.

The DAIAG will also play a key role in shaping consultation, ensuring engagement activities are accessible, relevant and reflective of community needs. This includes reviewing workshop and survey materials and providing input on how the City engages with people with disability.

Nominations are now open. Community members interested in joining can complete an online form, request a printed copy, or contact the Community Development team on 9273 6000.

Applications close at 4.00pm on Monday 27 April 2026.
