The City of Vincent is reviewing its Verge Treatments and Rights of Way policies and is asking community to comment on the proposed changes.
Since the adoption of these policies, changes to legislation, planning and engineering standards and community expectations mean they require updating.
The Verge Treatments Policy guides how the City manages its street verges and aims to:
- strengthen environmental and water-sensitive design outcomes
- improve pedestrian, disability and emergency access
- provide guidance on permissible verge treatments (paving for parking, beautification, removal and reinstatement).
The Rights of Way Policy provides direction on the City’s approach to the ownership, acquisition, closure, maintenance, upgrade and amenity of rights of way.
The updated policy includes guidance on matters such as:
- safety and accessibility
- beautification and activation
- maintenance and upgrades.
The amendments to both policies contribute to the City’s goal for a connected, accessible and sustainable urban environment.
Visit Imagine Vincent to find out more and have your say.
Consultations close 4pm Wednesday, 15 April 2026.
