Whether you’re a gardening guru or amateur green thumb the City of Vincent’s Native Plant Day Sale will provide everything you need to create a beautiful waterwise garden at your place.

The hugely popular event will be held at North Perth Common on Saturday August 14 from 8am – 11am.

There will be thousands of plants on offer at below wholesale price, including a wide variety of Australian native tube stock plants for only $1 each.

There will also be a smaller number of Kangaroo Paws and small trees available for $5.

Held twice a year, Vincent’s Native Plant Day Sale is a great opportunity to nab a bargain and beautify your garden.

Vincent’s Parks Team and Horticulturalists will also be on site to help keen gardeners choose their plants and provide information on how to care for the different species.

Mayor Emma Cole said planting natives would reduce residents’ water usage, help foster local biodiversity and create a healthier garden more suitable to our WA climate.

“Now is a great time to spruce up your garden and help green Vincent and planting natives has the added benefit of supporting our local environment,’’ she said.

“Native gardens and waterwise native verges not only save precious water, they also provide food and habitat for wildlife - and make our neighbourhoods even more beautiful.

“We will have a huge variety of species available at the sale to help people transform their gardens – from ground covers and small shrubs to tall shrubs, trees and climbers”

Community members who registered for Vincent’s Adopt-A-Verge program will be able to collect their 20 free plants at the sale.

Please note that there is a limit of 20 plants per household, and sales are restricted to City of Vincent residents only.

Eftpos facilities will be available on the day and residents are encouraged to bring a box to help carry their new plants home.
