Leederville’s iconic Sullivan Logistics Stadium is set to host three West Coast Eagles AFLW games in October.
- 4 October, 2:05pm – Round 8 – West Coast Eagles vs Fremantle Dockers
- 17 October, 4:15pm – Round 10 – West Coast Eagles vs Geelong Cats
- 31 October, 4:15pm – Round 12 – West Coast Eagles vs Hawthorn
The stadium was recently upgraded after the City of Vinent received State Government funding.
Turf and lighting were improved to AFL and AFLW competition standards, enabling the stadium to reach its potential as a state-level venue and the local alternative to Optus Stadium.
Upgrades to the historic ground included:
- installation of a new, more durable surface
- new irrigation to improve water efficiency
- installation of broadcast-quality lighting
- replacement of goal posts, in-ground sleeves and the boundary fence
- installation of above-ground dugouts
- installation of synthetic grass on the western boundary.
“Creating WA's most liveable city means investing in places that bring people together, celebrate our community and support local businesses,” said Mayor Alison Xamon.
“The recent upgrades to Sullivan Logistics Stadium have ensured this historic venue can continue to play an important role in the future of football in Western Australia.
“We're delighted to welcome the West Coast Eagles for three AFLW games this season. These games will bring energy and activity to Leederville, showcase elite women's sport and create great experiences for local residents and visitors alike.
“It's great to see this much-loved stadium continuing to attract major sporting events while remaining a valued community asset.”
