The City of Vincent is proposing changes to Local Planning Scheme No. 2 and Local Planning Policy: Short Term Rental Accommodation and is seeking community feedback.
Short-term Rental Accommodation (STRA) is an 'umbrella' term for accommodation such as bed and breakfasts and holiday lets.
The proposed changes to Local Planning Scheme Amendment No. 13 ensures consistency with recent updates to the Regulations and would not impact whether STRAs are allowed.
The Local Planning Policy: Short Term Rental Accommodation will guide planning applications and how the City will assess proposals for STRA.
Some features of the amended Policy include:
- Identifying preferred locations for STRA.
- What information is to be provided when lodging a planning application for STRA.
- Expectations as to how STRA should be operated.
- Minimum nights’ stay for ‘unhosted’ STRA.
In February 2025 Council approved both items for community consultation.
Visit Imagine Vincent to find out more and have your say.
Consultation closes 4pm Monday, 23 June 2025.
