Thinking of how to keep the kids busy this school holidays? We’ve got you covered. 

From interactive events to newly-built playgrounds, there’s plenty of fun activities coming up and places to go in Vincent. 

Here’s a list of things for you to check out with your family. 

• Minecraft Masters Builders Class: 1 October, 10am – 1pm, Vincent Community Centre, Leederville. Perfect for ages 7 – 14 to build, create and level up their skills.
• Story Play – Stories in the Park: 1 October, 10.30 - 11.15am, Hyde Park, Perth. Listen to unicorn stories, sing along to songs and make magical beasts using leaves and natural objects.
• Perth Pre Loved Market: 4 October, 8am – 12pm, North Perth Town Hall, 26 View Street, North Perth, $5 entry. Discover a range of second-hand pieces and find something you won’t see anywhere else.
• The Poppy Project workshops: 6 October, 10.30 - 11.30am (6 – 10 years), 1.30 – 2.30pm (11 – 16 years), Vincent Library, Leederville. Make a flower with recycled materials for our Remembrance Day display.
• Eco Action – Mini Beasts: 8 October, 10.30 - 11.30am, Vincent Library, Leederville. Learn about and touch invertebrates such as insects, beetles and caterpillars. Suited for students in Year 1 to 6.
• Movie Craft – Flow: 9 October, 1.30pm, Vincent Library, Leederville. Watch the Academy award-winning animated film, Flow, while eating snacks and playing with Lego.
• Fairytales in the Park: 10 October, 1 – 4pm, Hyde Park. Bring a picnic and listen to your favourite Disney tunes sung by the Elle Enchanted.
• Britannia Road Reserve South, Leederville: this new playground features 30 activities including a junior activity cube, basket swing, whirly gig and accessible rocker.   
• Brigatti Gardens, Highgate: home to fresh and unique play equipment such as a double tower with a valley bridge, tipi carousel, stilts and a music play panel.
• Hyde Park: the most popular park in Vincent. Home to two playgrounds, a water playground and a nice walk around the lakes.
• Warndoolier, Mt Lawley: plenty of shady spots for a picnic, with a basketball ring, skate ring, nature playground and a large space for dogs to run around. 
• Mt Hawthorn Skate Space: perfect for entry-level skaters to develop and hone their skills. There is a range of street and transition elements such as quarter pipes, a tabletop and mini ramp and rails.
• Robertson Park: shoot some hoops on the half basketball court, take a stroll through the leafy green space or have a hit on the new tennis courts.
• Beatty Park Leisure Centre: a fantastic spot to burn energy, by having a swim, exploring the water playground and going down the slide.
• Vincent Library: find your next read, have some quiet time or join weekly sessions in the recently-refurbished space.
• Luna Palace Cinemas, Leederville: enjoy a film with the family.
• Town centres: visit a local cafe or restaurant, find unique gems at boutique stores and take snaps of colourful murals.
