Review of Temporary Employment or Appointment of CEO Policy

The City of Vincent is reviewing its existing Temporary Employment or Appointment of CEO Policy and inviting community feedback on the proposed changes.

The policy was adopted in May 2022 and is due for review this year.

It clarifies when the CEO can appoint an Acting CEO, when Council approval is required and how suitably qualified officers are identified.

The proposed amendments:

  • allow the CEO to appoint an Acting CEO for up to three months
  • remove reliance on senior employee designation
  • identify Executive Management Committee members as suitably qualified officers for Acting CEO arrangements
  • clarify when Council approval is required
  • improve alignment with contemporary governance requirements.

These amendments support leadership continuity, good governance and compliance with legislative requirements.

Visit Imagine Vincent to find out more and share your feedback.

Consultation closes 4pm Wednesday, 16 September 2026.
