The City of Vincent is seeking community feedback on proposed changes to its Fraud and Corruption Prevention Policy and Attendance at Events Policy.
Fraud and Corruption Prevention Policy
The Fraud and Corruption Prevention Policy is under review
While there is no legislative requirement for a policy, it is considered best practice for local governments to maintain a documented position outlining their commitment to integrity and accountability.
The Fraud and Corruption Prevention Policy provides:
- A clear framework for managing fraud and corruption risks across all operations.
- A mechanism to align with community expectations for ethical governance and transparency.
- Support for compliance with external oversight and accountability requirements under legislation such as the Corruption, Crime and Misconduct Act 2003.
In April 2025, Council approved the updated Fraud and Corruption Prevention Policy for the purpose of community consultation.
Attendance at Events Policy
Vincent is reviewing its Attendance at Events Policy.
Attending events is an important aspect of Councillor and employee roles.
The purpose of the policy is to provide guidance and criteria for approving attendance at events which have not been pre-approved and the payment of fees.
In March 2021, Council adopted its current policy.
In May 2025, Council approved the proposed amendments to the draft Attendance at Events Policy for the purpose of community consultation.
Visit Imagine Vincent to find out more both policies and to have your say.
These consultations close 4pm Wednesday, 18 June 2025.
