Proposed Laneway Naming – Mt Lawley

The City of Vincent is proposing to name the laneway between Stanley and Ebsworth streets in Mt Lawley and is seeking community feedback.

The proposed name, Fenian Crossing Lane, relates to the construction and opening of the Fremantle to Guildford railway in 1881.

The area where the tracks crossed Guildford Road was a dangerous intersection, known to many as ‘Fenian Crossing’, after the Irish convicts who built it.

If this proposal receives community support, we will submit a road naming application to Landgate.

The laneway is currently unnamed.

Visit Imagine Vincent to find out more and have your say.

Consultation closes 4pm Monday, 30 March 2026.
