New Safe Trading Site for online buyers and sellers

The City of Vincent has established a Safe Trading Site to support safer in‑person meet‑ups for community members buying and selling goods through online platforms such as Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree and Depop.

Located at 62 Frame Court, Leederville, the site provides a safer and more convenient alternative to meeting at private homes or unfamiliar locations. The area is well lit, clearly signed and monitored by 24/7 CCTV, offering a more secure public space for community members to finalise transactions with confidence.

The initiative responds to the rapid growth of online second‑hand marketplaces and local buy‑nothing communities, which has increased demand for secure, neutral meeting points.

“The establishment of a Safe Trading Site reinforces the City’s commitment to community safety and practical support for everyday activities,” said Mayor Alison Xamon.

“More people than ever are buying and selling online and we want to make sure they have a safer, central place to meet. This site will give greater peace of mind, convenience and a simple alternative to meeting at your home or work,” said Mayor Xamon.

The Safe Trading Site is easily accessible, with nearby parking and public transport options. It is available to the public at any time and is designed for quick, low‑key exchanges.
