Library Refresh Continues with Pop-Up Events Ahead of Reopening

The City is extending the temporary closure of the library to allow a final round of improvement works to be completed before reopening on Monday, 20 July 2026.

While this means a short delay, it also gives us the chance to deliver a more flexible, modern and accessible library experience for everyone.

To help you stay connected, we’re rolling out a series of pop‑up and outreach events that offer a sneak peek at our new programs and services. You’ll also be able to borrow from a limited pop‑up collection, including as much new stock as we can put on the shelves.

Upcoming PopUp Events

  • Pop‑Up Library in the Library Foyer — Thursday 2 July
  • Pop‑Up Library in the Library Foyer — Saturday 4 July
  • Story Play at Braithwaite Park — Thursday 9 July

These activations are a great way to reconnect with the library team, explore what’s coming next, and enjoy a taste of our refreshed programs.

Head to the Library Event page to learn more upcoming Library pop-up events.
