From March to May 2019, we will create the Leederville Village Square, a pedestrian-friendly space for cars, cyclists and people to share.

We will raise a section of Newcastle Street to footpath level, add two new street trees to add extra shade for alfresco dining and install retractable bollards to make the Leederville Village Square the perfect venue for community events and festivals.

Construction will commence Monday 18 March. During this time, Newcastle Street will be closed to vehicles from Oxford Street to Carr Place, with traffic and bus route 15 diverted to Leederville Parade and Vincent Street. Pedestrian and footpath access will be unaffected and all businesses in Leederville will remain open.
