Learn to Ride workshops coming to Vincent this June

The City of Vincent in partnership with WestCycle is delivering a free Learn to Ride workshop series this June to help community members build confidence and practical cycling skills.

Running across four weeks at Kyilla Primary School, the workshops are designed for beginners and “rusty riders” looking to improve their confidence and safety when riding.

Participants will work with experienced instructors to learn practical riding skills including braking, turning, gear shifting and safe riding techniques in a supportive environment.

The first three sessions will focus on bike riding skills and confidence building:

  • Saturday 6 June | 10am – 11.30am
  • Saturday 13 June | 10am – 11.30am
  • Saturday 20 June | 10am – 11.30am

The final workshop on Saturday 27 June at 10am will focus on eScooter safety and education for participants aged 16 years and over.

The eScooter session will cover road rules, safe riding behaviour and practical handling skills including balance, acceleration and controlled braking.

The workshops form part of the City’s broader commitment to encouraging active and sustainable transport options and making it easier for more people to feel confident choosing to ride for short everyday trips.

Through initiatives like this, the City is continuing to invest in practical community education that supports safer streets, healthier lifestyles and more connected neighbourhoods.

WestCycle is a not-for-profit organisation that champions policies that support safer riding conditions, better infrastructure and increased participation.
