We are developing a refreshed, amended Local Planning Strategy (LPS) which will set the broad approach to development in Vincent and want it to reflect your aspirations.
All local governments in Western Australia are required to have a Local Planning Strategy and Scheme and to review them every five years.
The LPS addresses key land use topics to set the direction and vision, and the Scheme translates that into specifics for implementation, such as the type of uses that may be possible in each area.
There are some aspects that we cannot influence as they are subject to State Government approval eg. dwelling targets.
We’ve collated your feedback from other community consultations such as the Strategic Community Plan, town centre planning frameworks and community needs studies and this has been used to inform the draft LPS.
This means we are focusing on five key themes:
- buildings
- economy and employment
- environment and sustainability
- transport
- our current and future centres.
This is your opportunity to help shape our approach to future development in Vincent. Tell us if we are on the right track or if we’ve missed anything.
Visit Imagine Vincent to find out more and have a say.
This consultation closes 5pm Monday, 3 August 2026.
