Draft Public Health Plan open for community feedback

The City of Vincent is inviting the community to have their say on its draft Public Health Plan.

Under the Public Health Act 2016, all local governments must prepare a Public Health Plan that aligns with the State Public Health Plan and responds to local needs.

The City’s draft Plan sets out how we will support health and wellbeing across Vincent through services, programs and initiatives.

The Plan is a high-level document aligned with the City’s Strategic Community Plan 2022-2032 and will guide future planning, budgets and decision-making.

Vincent has a strong track record in public health planning. Our current Public Health Plan 2020-2025 delivered key outcomes, including the Smoke-Free Town Centres project, which led to a 42 per cent reduction in smoking in town centres and strong community support for new smoke- and vape-free areas.

Development of the new Plan has been informed by State health priorities, local health data, community and stakeholder feedback and a review of what has worked well over the past five years.

Previous engagement showed mental health, opportunities to be active, social connection and access to green spaces as top priorities for the community.

The draft Plan focuses on improving mental health, responding to the health impacts of a warming climate and supporting healthy lifestyles through a holistic, place-based approach.

Visit Imagine Vincent to view the draft Plan and share your feedback.

Consultation closes at 4pm Friday, 6 March 2026.
