The City of Vincent is reviewing its CCTV Policy and is inviting community feedback on the proposed changes.
The purpose of the review is to bring the policy into line with both current practice and legislative requirements.
It also provides updated guidance on newer safety initiatives such as body-worn and vehicle-mounted cameras as well as emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence.
The proposed amendments aim to:
- ensure the City’s CCTV governance is aligned with current Western Australian legislation
- reflect community expectations regarding accountability, transparency and the responsible use of surveillance technologies.
The Policy does not propose any changes to CCTV locations, camera coverage or surveillance, nor does it introduce new capabilities.
CCTV is used to enhance community safety and protect our public spaces and facilities and supports our vision to create a leafy and vibrant 24-hour City.
Visit Imagine Vincent to find out more and share your feedback.
Consultation closes 4pm Tuesday, 18 August 2026.
