Axford Park Set to Shine with Major Lighting Upgrade

Lighting at Axford Park will be replaced with energy efficient LED lights to enhance park user experience and safety from April 2026.

The upgrade is made possible by a $200,000 grant from the Australian Government’s Investing in Our Communities Program. This grant will also facilitate minor lighting upgrades in Braithwaite Park.

The upgrade includes new tree up-lights that can be programmed with a variety of colours enhancing the park’s visual appeal and contributing to a more vibrant, creative and engaging sense of place.

The community can benefit from a reduction in anti-social behaviour and a more activated space that compliments the Mt Hawthorn strip.

Works are expected to start on Tuesday 28 April and will take about eight weeks to complete.

All works will take place between 7am and 5pm to limit noise and disruption to nearby residents.
