The City of Vincent is offering free FOGO caddy lids and bin stickers with updated sorting information to help residents remember what goes in each bin.

Under updated state-wide guidance, FOGO bins should now be used for food and garden waste only. The updates aim to make sorting waste simpler and produce cleaner compost.

Some items that could previously go in your FOGO bin now belong in the red-lid general waste bin. These include dog poo, food-soiled pizza boxes, tea bags and tissues. Clean paper and cardboard packaging should still go in your recycling bin.

If you’d like a reminder of what goes where, you can collect a new caddy lid or stickers with the updated information from the City of Vincent Administration Building, 244 Vincent Street (cnr Loftus Street), Leederville. The Administration Building is open 8.30am - 5pm Monday to Friday.

If you are collecting a replacement lid, please bring in your current lid (washed please) and we can recycle it for you.

You can also check the Recycle Right A–Z Guide or our sorting your waste page for the latest advice.

Keeping the right items in each bin helps us produce cleaner compost and make the most of the waste we collect.
