Voting is now open for the 2022 National Awards for Local Government.

The awards are an annual celebration of the best Australian local government achievements. They highlight innovative and resourceful solutions implemented by local governments that make a difference to their local communities. 

City of Vincent is in the running for the Waste Management category- recognising the opportunities that waste material provides and economic value they retain. 

Over the last 12 months, we have completely transformed our waste services to become more sustainable, increase diversion from landfill and pursue cleaner resource recovery in line with the City's Waste Strategy and the WA Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Strategy 2030. 

Thanks to the fantastic efforts of our residents, we have diverted over 2,000 tonnes of organic waste from landfill in just the first 6 months of our 3 bin FOGO system.

Voting is open to the public, giving community members the ability to vote for projects in each category that display excellence, innovation and outcomes that are replicable across regions. 

Voting closes 14 September 2022.
