Young people are a vital part of Vincent’s community and deserve to feel safe, connected and valued.

On 10 February 2026, Council endorsed the City’s next Youth Action Plan (YAP), which was officially launched during Youth Week 2026.

The Youth Action Plan 2026 and Beyond provides a roadmap for how the City will support young people aged 10 to 25 over the coming years. Drafted from the voices, insights and ideas of more than 800 young people, it reflects the City’s commitment to creating a community where all young people can participate, create and thrive.

Children and young people aged 10 to 25 make up 17% of Vincent’s population, with 6,207 residents in this age group. Most (66.7%) have at least one parent born in Australia, and nearly 30% of 18 to 25 year olds have a Bachelor degree or higher.

The Youth Action Plan aims to respond to the needs, strengths and diversity of local young people.
