Soft Drink Cans

Soft drink cans are made of aluminium and should be empty and placed in your yellow-lid recycling bin.

Steel cans

Steel cans should be rinsed and placed in your yellow-lid recycling bin.

Styrofoam 

Styrofoam/Polystyrene is light and bulky, making it uneconomical to transport overseas for recycling and can’t be placed in your yellow-lid recycling bin.

Polystyrene/Styrofoam, including beads (bean bag/cushion/packing beads/pellets) should not be placed in your green or yellow-lid bin as it can’t be recycled through your kerbside bins.

However, polystyrene is recyclable if dropped off at CLAW Environmental- 5 Forge Street, Welshpool.

All waste must have tape and stickers removed and will be recycled at no cost. For further information call 9333 4888 or visit the CLAW website at www.clawenvironmental.com

You can also drop off Polystyrene EPS, (used for packaging in boxes for example) at the Recycling Centre Balcatta and Tamala Park for free as these facilities can compact the material which makes it easier to recycle.
