A precinct transport study looks at how the entire local road network works within a neighbourhood, not just individual streets or intersections. This means solutions are coordinated, so fixing one issue does not create another nearby.
Each study draws on a range of data including crash history, vehicle speeds and volumes, walking and cycling movements, and community feedback. The findings are used to develop a prioritised road safety implementation plan for the precinct, identifying practical and cost-effective improvements for the short, medium and long term.
Precinct transport studies are one of the programs that support our Road Safety Management Plan. To find out how these studies fit into the City's broader approach to road safety, view Road Safety Planning.
Studies for the Leederville and West Perth precincts are being planned and will be added to this page when they are available.
