Vincent launches new Youth Action Plan shaped by local young people

The City of Vincent has launched its new Youth Action Plan 2026 and Beyond shaped by feedback from more than 800 young people aged 10–25.

The Plan sets a clear roadmap for how the City will work with young people on the things they have said matter most – feeling safe and welcome, having inclusive spaces to spend time and having a voice in decisions that affect them.

City of Vincent Mayor Alison Xamon said the Plan turns youth feedback into clear actions for the City.

“Young people told us they want safe, accessible and welcoming spaces where they can participate in activities that reflect their diverse interests.”

“This plan sets out how we’ll keep working alongside the next generation to improve spaces and opportunities across Vincent and ensure their needs are reflected in our decisions.” Mayor Xamon said.

The Youth Action Plan focuses on four key areas: place and belonging, wellbeing and inclusion, youth leadership and engagement and opportunity.

Actions include exploring youth-led initiatives to assess how City spaces meet young people’s needs, promoting youth-friendly spaces in City facilities for study and connection and contributing to support under-age live music venues as safe and social spaces for young people.

The launch coincides with Youth Week celebrations, with events running from 8 April to help young people connect, participate and celebrate.
