Artist Profile

Jane Coffey

A multidisciplinary artist based in North Perth, Jane Coffey completed her Master of Arts at the Royal College of Art in London in 1999 before moving to North Perth in 2005. She and her husband – Adam Coffey – created Future Shelter on Angove Street in 2017, selling locally made products featuring her artworks inspired by all aspects of Perth life.

Her commissioned artworks include large-scale sculpture, murals, textile designs, illustrations and paintings. The interaction of natural and built environments have been a persistent theme throughout her art practice and she is particularly interested in how historical layers of decision-making shape our built and natural environments. Her latest work of three oil paintings, as part of the City of Vincent’s COVID Arts Relief Project, is inspired by her observations of our town centres during social distancing.
