Early childhood years

The early childhood years are a special time of growth, learning and connection or both children and their families. In Vincent, there are a range of local services and programs designed to support you along the way, from kindergartens and child health services to toy libraries and playgroups.

Whether you're looking for early education options, expert parenting support, or opportunities to connect with other families, you’ll find welcoming spaces and helpful resources right here in your community.

Kindergartens

If your child will be four years old by 30 June they can go to Kindergarten at a school or a community kindergarten. There are two community kindergartens in Vincent:

Margaret Kindergarten

Leederville Early Childhood Centre

Child Health Nurse

A Child Health Centre is located at the Community Centre, 99 Loftus Street, Leederville. Child Health Centres are staffed by registered nurses and offer a range of services for parents with babies and young children. More information can be found on the Healthy WA website.

Toy Libraries

At a toy library you can borrow from an array of toys that have been designed to support your child’s skill development and imagination. Toy libraries aim to support families and encourage togetherness with quality time spent playing with children. Toy libraries are inexpensive and usually charge an annual membership fee. There are two toy libraries in the Vincent area:

Playgroups

Playgroups are a great way for parents with young children to get involved with the community. We have four in the City of Vincent. Click on the links below to find out more information about them.
