2019 Election

Candidates have been announced in the 2019 City of Vincent Local Government elections, to be held this October.

Office of the Mayor (1 position, 4 year term)

  • Mayor Emma Cole (current Mayor)

Mayor Emma Cole ran unopposed and will return as the Mayor of Vincent for another four years to 21 October 2023.

North Ward (2 positions, each 4 year term)

  • Cr Dan Loden (current Councillor)
  • Sally Smith

Dan Loden and Sally Smith both ran unopposed and will fill the North Ward Councillor positions for four years to 21 October 2023.

South Ward (2 vacancies, each 4 year term)

For the two positions in the south ward, there are six candidates. The order they will appear on the ballot paper was drawn by the Returning Officer after the close of nominations on 12 September. The candidates are:

  • Ashley Wallace
  • Susan Gontaszewski
  • David McDermont
  • Joshua O’Keefe
  • Peter Le
  • Adina Lieblich

Election Packs and Replacement Ballot Papers

Election packs will be sent out in late September to south ward electors listed on the City of Vincent electoral roll, which includes local residents listed on the State electoral roll. Postal voting closes Saturday 19 October.  The packages can be returned by mail or hand delivered and placed in a sealed ballot box at the City's Administration Centre until 6pm on election day.

Replacement ballot papers are available for registered electors at the City's Administration Centre.

Election Count

The count commences at 6pm on election day (19 October 2019) at the City of Vincent Administration Centre.  The Administration Centre will be open from 8am to 6pm on this day and the public are welcome to watch the count.

The results are usually declared later that evening and available on the Western Australian Electoral Commission's website.
