AXFORD PARK LIGHTING UPGRADES DELIVERED UNDER AN ALBANESE LABOR GOVERNMENT

A $200,000 investment from the Albanese Labor Government is helping light up Axford Park and Braithwaite Park.

Meaning families, locals and sporting groups will now be able to enjoy these much-loved parks for longer.

Delivered through the Investing in Our Communities Program, the funding will upgrade lighting across both parks with the installation of additional light poles.

The improvements will make the parks safer, more welcoming and easier for the community to enjoy after dark.

Federal Member for Perth, Patrick Gorman MP said:

“Labor is proud to have partnered with the City of Vincent to deliver this upgrade. Investing in the local places that bring our community together.

“These upgrades will make it easier for local families to spend more time enjoying the playground and our local parks.

“Mount Hawthorn is already one of Perth's great local communities. But these upgrades will make our local parks even more welcoming for everyone."

Mayor Alison Xamon said:

“The completion of the Axford Park lighting upgrades is a significant improvement for this valued community space. These enhancements will increase safety, accessibility and amenity, ensuring the park remains a welcoming place for residents and visitors alike.

“This project is about more than infrastructure. It’s about creating vibrant, inclusive public spaces where people feel safe, connected and proud of their local community.

“Through projects like the Axford Park lighting upgrades and improvements at Braithwaite Park, we are continuing to partner with the Government to deliver practical enhancements that strengthen community wellbeing and make Vincent an even more liveable city.”
