Vincent Men's Shed

The Vincent Men's Shed (VMS) is a place where members can meet, share or learn skills, converse, work on projects or just come and have a cuppa in a safe friendly environment.
The Men’s Shed concept is not new, with more than 1000 sheds already up and running Australia wide and more being funded and built. The VMS is part of a strongly supported movement called The Men’s Shed Movement. This movement has come as a response to a need for a greater focus on men’s health and well-being.
There is an Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA) and also a WA Men’s Shed Association (WAMSA). The VMS follows the basic structure recommended by these organisations, however, with the input of the members, VMS has created its own unique identity.
The VMS was a City of Vincent initiative. In 2011, a very well attended community forum was held to gauge interest and support for a Men’s Shed, at that point a Steering Committee made up of community members was appointed.
Since 2011, the Steering Committee and City officers have worked tirelessly to make the VMS a reality.
Membership is always open to join the VMS. For more information or to obtain a membership form please contact the VMS Steering Committee at vincentmensshed@wamsa.org.au
