Accessible parking

Who can use an ACROD bay?

The ACROD Parking Program supports Western Australians with a severe walking restriction and people who are legally blind to access the community. Parking in a marked ACROD bay is only permitted where the driver or passenger is an ACROD permit holder and is displaying a current valid ACROD permit on the dashboard of the vehicle.

People utilising these bays who do not display a valid ACROD permit will be issued with an Infringement Notice with a penalty of up to $500.

What are the rules for ACROD permit holders in City of Vincent?

Parking is free of charge in designated ACROD parking bays, with an ACROD permit clearly displayed. If parking in a time restricted bay, double the time is permitted (for example, in a 2 hour parking area, ACROD permit holders may stay for 4 hours).

When parking in a ticket parking location, in a non-ACROD bay, ACROD permit holders are required to obtain a ticket. However, double the time is also permitted (provided the ACROD permit is clearly displayed at all times). This includes ‘free with ticket’ areas.

Some of our ticket machines are not fully accessible. We recommend downloading the Easy Park app so a ticket can be obtained via mobile phone.

How do I obtain an ACROD permit?

ACROD Parking Permits are free. The cost of the permit is funded by the Government of Western Australia.

To be eligible for an ACROD Parking Permit you must meet one of the following criteria:

  • You are unable to walk and always require the use of a wheelchair.
  • Your ability to walk is severely restricted by a permanent medical condition or disability.
  • Your ability to walk is severely restricted by a temporary medical condition or disability (a minimum of six months); or
  • You are legally blind.

Please visit the ACROD website for more information on eligibility requirements and ways to apply for an ACROD permit.

Loton Park ACROD Parking Permit

There’s now a new booking system for permit holders to park at Loton Park for some events at HBF Park.  ACROD permit holders will now need to pre-book parking for events using SpacetoCo.

ACROD permit holders will not be able to access this parking unless they have pre-booked. Loton Park ACROD parking permits are limited.

Can I access a parking site on the day?

ACROD permit holders will not be able to access this area of parking unless they have pre-booked. Loton Park ACROD parking permits are limited.

What if the parking allocation has exhausted?

If the event date is not listed, parking permits for this event have been exhausted. If the allocation is exhausted, we recommend:

  • Utilising other parking bays around HBF Park. There are a limited number of ACROD bays on Brewer Street, Pier Street, Bulwer Street, and in the Brisbane Street Carpark.
  • Utilising the drop-off and pick-up location, situated at the corner of Wright Street and Bulwer Street, which is in close proximity to Gate 1.
  • Utilise Taxi and rideshare services.

Is there a parking fee?

The parking fee is $10 for one bay, per event. The $10 fee was set by Council to ensure that any damage to the reserve can be quickly remediated. This ensures that the use of the Park is sustainable in the long term.

How do I access the ACROD parking area?

Loton Park is located on Pier Street, East Perth. It is on the east side of HBF Park (previously NIB Stadium). Access is via Lord St. To access the ACROD parking permit area, you must present upon arrival:

  • A valid ACROD permit;
  • A valid photo ID that matches the details submitted with this booking
  • A copy of your booking confirmation

Access will be granted one hour before gates open for the event at HBF Park.
