Vincent seeks Expressions of Interest for Mt Hawthorn Hawkers Market

The City of Vincent is on the hunt for a market operator to run the Mt Hawthorn Hawkers Market in early 2023 after a three-year absence due to COVID-19.

The market made its debut in 2014 at Axford Park on Scarborough Beach Road, with dozens of hawker-style street food stalls and trucks, live music and kids’ activities.

It was held every Friday evening but it came to a pause in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Now, Vincent is inviting expressions of interests (EOI) for a market operator get this popular market up and running once again.

The vision for the market is to showcase local Vincent eateries and restaurants.

“We would really like to see the popular hawkers market returning to Friday nights as soon as possible,” said Mayor Emma Cole.

“COVID-19 pressed pause on this annual event for a few years, but we are keen to see it make a comeback.

“It would be exciting for local families and foodies from across Perth to return to a lively food hub at Axford Park.

“I encourage market operators to make their bid to bring the market back to the park.”

All EOIs must be received by 2pm (AWST) on Friday 17 February 2023.
