The State government through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) is a major supporter of sport within the City of Vincent. Sport and recreation builds stronger, healthier, happier and safer communities.

Seniors Recreation Council publishes a directory of sport and recreation activities for adults called 'Add Life to Your Years'.   Seniors Recreation Council of WA Inc. a uniquely Western Australian organisation is recognised as the peak body for organisations supporting seniors' involvement in sport and recreation the Council is constantly reviewing its strategies to increase the participation of seniors in sport, recreation and associated physical and mental activity. Within the Council’s resource limitations it has directed initiatives towards the areas of participation encouragement, policy development, community leadership promotion and the over fifties potential for community contribution.

The Australian Sports Commission is governed by a board of commissioners who bring a range of expertise to guide the work of the ASC. Our board includes former athletes, business people and journalists, each with extensive, first-hand knowledge of Australia’s sporting landscape.
