Tree removal at Beatty Park

An arboricultural assessment was recently undertaken of the large pine tree, Pinus halepensis, located on Vincent Street outside the top entrance to the Beatty Park Leisure Centre carpark.

This tree has shown signs of decline for some time and due to its age, recent rapid decline, presence of termites and location adjacent to a very busy road, the arboricultural consultant has recommended that it be removed.  Weather permitting, removal of the tree will commence Sunday 2 February 2020 and will be completed within a couple of days.

To enable the works to proceed smoothly and safely, access will be restricted around the work zone while works are in progress, including partial lane closure on Vincent Street and closure of the top carpark entrance into Beatty Park Leisure Centre.

We apologise in advance for any inconvenience as a result of these works.

Any enquiries pertaining to these works can be directed to the City’s Parks Supervisor, John Gourdis on 0408 914 609.
