The City of Vincent is one step closer to making its residential streets safer for the people who live, walk and ride there by reducing the speed limit.
The existing 60 km/h speed limit on Lord Street between Walcott Street and Brewer Street will be adjusted to the built up area standard speed limit of 50 km/h and aims to improve safety for all road users.
Reducing speed limits on local roads was a key objective of Vincent’s Accessible City Strategy 2020 - 2030.
This change is also part of a precinct-wide traffic study in Vincent.
Other residential roads speed limits will be reduced in the coming weeks, like Brisbane and Vincent St between Beaufort and William St.
Drivers are encouraged to observe new signage and adjust their speed accordingly.
