Compost & Recycling Initiative

In 2016 we launched a City-wide Compost and Recycle Initiative which includes subsidised composting and worm farming equipment, free workshops, community events and new resource materials.

Local Native Plant Sale

The City purchases around 5000 tube stock plants - all Australian natives – and we subsidise the cost of these tubes to residents of the City.

Electric Vehicle - Vincent Charge Stations

The City currently has one Electric Vehicle charge point available for community use. It's located in The Avenue Car Park in Leederville. Find out how to access it here.

National Tree Day

The City participates in National Tree Day every year by planting native species to the area.

Environmental Grants

The City's Environmental Grants program is designed to assist and encourage schools and community groups in carrying out environmental projects and initiatives within Vincent.

Public Open Space Zoning

The careful management of Public Open Space (POS) within the City is one giant and essential step towards achieving the reduction and efficient conservation of ground water whilst still providing high quality facilities to the local and wider community.

Nature Play Areas

A nature playground is one that is constructed around the philosophy of nature based elements, which can include things like logs, stepping stones, cubby houses, ropes, obstacles, musical or water elements and plants.
