TTV Movie Night - Night Calling
Night Calling is a 2024 Australian documentary by filmmaker Sue Taylor that highlights the plight of the rare Masked Owl (Yornitj) in Western Australia. It showcases Dr. Boyd Wykes’ efforts to protect these birds, which are dying due to eating rodent-poisoned prey, and celebrates the Margaret River community’s shift to “Owl Friendly” methods.
The screening will be followed by a short clip on the impact of rodenticides and a Q&A with wildlife researcher, Dr Robert Davis from Edith Cowan University, who has contributed to the recent landmark decision by the Federal pesticides regulator.
