Storytelling with the Neerlandia Dutch Club

Storytelling with the Neerlandia Dutch Club

For Thursday 20th of November, the Dutch Club will in cooperation with Omroep Fryslan, organise the annual Story Telling Night.

The subject this year is ‘When I was courageous’.

We are looking forward to stories about that one moment that you took a courageous decision or that you experienced a courageous moment. Or that one moment that you wished you were courageous, but you weren’t — yet now you have the courage to tell us what you wished to have done. Or maybe you once experienced someone else to be courageous.

Each story wants to be told. Everyday stories, or maybe a story about a special event. Stories about people whom you know or about the place where you live. Or maybe you know old secrets and now you have the courage to talk about those.

During Story Telling Night, each story will be listened to. And you can tell that story like you would tell your friend or your neighbour: without embellishments nor literary adornment — stories don’t like that.

You can tell your story in either the Dutch or the English language. Your story takes a maximum of eight minutes to tell.

Or maybe you don’t have a story to tell but you would like to come and listen to others telling their story. That would be really good too.

Light refreshments will be served.

Whether you wish to tell your story or to listen, register before 13th November by contacting:
